Heuchera americana 'Dales Strain'

Coral bells

This is a strain selected by Dale Hendricks of North Creek Nurseries in the USA.

It's a wonderful foliage and ground cover plant with unique silver-blue marbled leaves. Tiny, pink, bell-shaped flowers are borne on slender, wiry stems extending well above the foliage. 'Dale's Strain' grows best in rich, loamy, moist, well-drained soil in part to full shade. If it is to be grown in full sun, adequate moisture is essential.

In very cold winters a mulch applied after the ground freezes will help prevent root heaving (clumps are shallow-rooted and will develop woody bases rather quickly).

This very pretty Heuchera provides colour and contrast in a shaded patch and looks wonderful as path edging.
