Echinacea purpurea 'Mellow Yellows'

Coneflower

It's taken over twenty years of selective breeding to produce 'Mellow Yellows' and this devotion seems to have paid off.

The plant is vigorous, sturdy and produces flowers in varying shades of  muted yellows. Initially the colours are intense before mellowing as the flower petals age.

This gives a mature planting a lovely spectrum of yellows in one viewing.

Add in the textural beauty and green/gold/burnt orange of the evolving cone, and you have a lovely garden plant.

The plants will vary in flower colour, but there will be no pink in sight.
